Linings

The quartered spruce linings are set to soak while the iron heats to temperature.  Mortises are marked directly from an offcut then scored with a saw and chopped with a pair of ambidextrous skew chisels and custom lining chisel to precise dimension.  Linings are bent over an iron to the exact contour and each end is marked and fit snugly to the blocks before promptly being glued in sparing no clamp to ensure a gapless square parallel fit.
